About
This was my final project in Broadcast Journalism (COMM 353). The story covers my aunt and uncle's non-profit, Great Vibes, and their events. The project's description was to make a news package about a story in the local community. I took heavy inspiration from Eric’s Heroes from the KOMO network in Seattle, from the soothing storytelling, simple editing, community-centered stories, and the emotional appeal. I have learned a lot from finishing this project, from time management, simple editing, but most importantly, script writing. Writing the script took me the longest, as I am not a journalist; I have only written academic papers, so I had to change my writing tone, which was a difficult hurdle to overcome.

I am pleased with how this project came out. I have received plenty of positive notes and messages about it so far. Additionally, I am happy to shed light on the Great Vibes Events and for what they do for the community. I understand that the Boones and volunteers pour their hearts into the project, and I am so glad that they let me into their world of Great Vibes!
