About the Project
This video was my final project in my Post-Production class at George Mason University. We were tasked with implementing all of our newly gained knowledge from our past projects, such as storytelling, color correcting, and sound design, to create a sequential story with the implementation of unique transitions.
Shooting and Editing
I created this project about my mom, who makes sourdough bread in her free time, as that would be a good way to follow a sequence. Recording took three days to do as making bread can take up to two days, and daylight was very important for the shooting. I tried to make this video solely about the bread and not my mom, so her face was only purposeful at the very start and end of the project.
For the editing, colorgrading was the most difficult aspect of the project as making all the scenes look alike and shot on the same day was very difficult. I made colors such as blue, green, and red pop a lot to contrast the bland colors of the bread and ingredients. For the sound design, I recorded plenty of actions and movements tailored for this video and also utilized Adobe's free library of sounds.
