About the Project
The main task of this project was to inform viewers about the symptoms of drug overdoses. Me and a group of four others made this a reality by creating a fearmongering video to bring strong emotions to the viewer, letting them know that drugs can take any of its users.

Editing
I decided to edit this video to a fast-paced trendy song (“Popular” by the Weekend) to build a realistic party scene. Many jump cuts were used to show that the main character and the party attendees were having a good time. The mood of the PSA changes when the drugs are shown as the audio becomes echoey and muffled, and the music is turned down. This emphasizes that the drugs are a negative thing in contrast to the lively party. After this, it goes back to normal, showing that the people in the party are unaware of what is happening in the room. Once they are all drawn away from the person on the couch, he overdoes, showing symptoms such as nodding, heavy breathing, and sweating. All this with a grueling sound in the background to emphasize the dreariness of this situation. Finally, it closes with the message, “SILENT OVERDOSES ARE LOUDER THAN YOU THINK,” leaving the viewer with a different perspective on the realness of overdoses and their symptoms.
This wouldn't have been possible without the help of my groupmates:
Vince Cangelosi - Videographer
Caroline Frisby - Audio Technician
Walter Coughlan - Director
Alma Pekerti - Lights/Initial Editor

And for the background actors:
